The Van Martins - It's Not About Us

It's Not About Us

The Van Martins ministry is not about's about you! It's about those that are hurting in a world that may or may not care about you. It's about those that are faithful and need encouragement and hope. It's about those that those that are lost and need the Light of the World.

Our Testimony

Through a series of personal losses and struggles, the Van Volkenburgh and Martin families came together on a cool evening in October, 2010 to discuss what they knew to be personal callings each had been trying to deny and made plans to begin their music ministry to other churches in the form of outreach, all while continuing to maintain home church bases in DFW, Texas.

At that time, they decided the name given to them by friends and family in August 2010, when they lost a very dear family member and mentor, Russ Howell, was more of an honor than a name and tribute to him and The Van Martins started on a new journey that evening. Since then, two more families have joined The Van Martins: the Huckaby's, and the Allaire's.  Along with our Bass Guitar player, that makes a total of five families. Including the children and adults from the five families, there are fourteen...yes, that's right...fourteen that travel in the group and all participate in one form or another, whether that's in on stage, behind the scenes handling sound or photography, sales and promotions, or wrangling children.

How to Know Jesus

Building a relationship with Jesus Christ is not difficult at all. He loves you and wants you to know Him better. Here's how:

    Five Easy Steps

  • Recognize that God loves you and has a plan for your life.
  • Recognize that sin separates you from God and others.
  • Recognize that Jesus Christ died and rose again for our sins.
  • You must repent and ask God for forgiveness.
  • Place your trust in Christ and receive Him as your Savior.

  • Pray this prayer:

Lord Jesus, I want to have life. I know that I have sinned. I need Your forgiveness and pardon. I believe that You died and rose again for my sins. I now accept You as my personal Savior. I will forsake my sinful life. I know that Your grace and power will enable me to live for You. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me and for giving me a new life.

    To live a meaningful life:

  • Be assured of Christ's forgiveness.
  • Read your Bible and pray daily.
  • Find a concerned pastor and other Christians.
  • Become a vital part of that church.
  • Share your faith with others.
  • A caring church family is waiting to accept you and help nurture you as a Christian. We invite you to visit your local church family and see for yourself today!
